The Modi government of India has put history at the forefront of the rights of Kashmiris. Article 370 of the Indian Constitution was revoked by presidential order, the state of occupied Jammu and Kashmir was also abolished, two parts of occupied Kashmir were declared as regions of Indian Union.
Ladakh region, separated from occupied Kashmir, was declared as an area of Indian Union; Ladakh region was seized of assembly representation and directly occupied by the Indian state. In Jammu and Kashmir, the occupation of Kashmiri citizens’ lands, resources and employment increased as the Palestinians started their displacement.
India rejects promises made to Kashmiris, blows up UN resolutions, rejects trusts made to the international community, goes back to its constitution. India, which had put on its face a veil of caste-based voting in Kashmir since 1948, today threw it off with its own hands. The Modi government has shown its true face to the whole world.
On the condition of knowing the wishes of Kashmiris, the same document which India sought to secure the temporary affiliation with Kashmir, the same document of the Indian Constitution, Article 370, was abolished by presidential decree.
Opposition members were also on fire as the Modi government poured daggers in the back of the Kashmiris, Peoples Democratic Party member Mir Mohammad Fayaz split the Indian constitution in the Rajya Sabha, Congress director Ghulam Nabi Azad told. The move was declared a murder of the Indian Constitution.
The Indian government was so afraid of Kashmiris’ reaction that Section 144 was enforced in a valley occupied by darkness a day earlier, when former Chief Minister Mufti Farooq Abdullah left his house to go to his house, security forces first made their way. He was stopped, then taken to the house and closed his eyes.
The senior leader of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Syed Ali Geelani was also shut down, but the Modi government could not reduce the spirit of independence which is the heartbeat of every Kashmiri. India put a dacoity on the right of Kashmir through a presidential order, that is, no one was consulted in the parliament as there was no one to support.
Not only the special status of Kashmir was abolished by this order, but after Article 370 of the Indian Constitution ended, Indian citizens got the right to buy, invest and trade property in occupied Kashmir. In the Valley, the rights of public servants were only with the citizens of Kashmir; they too were destroyed. Indian laws can now be implemented in occupied Kashmir.
Apart from the occupation of land, resources and employment among Kashmiri citizens, the worry of being displaced like Palestinians have increased.
