Burberry’s pre-Autumn/Winter 2018 collection with Adwoa Aboah
Burberry Group PLC is a British luxury, fashion house headquartered in London, England. Its main fashion house focuses on and distributes trench coats (for which it is most famous), ready-to-wear outerwear, fashion accessories, fragrances, sunglasses, and cosmetics.
Since established in 1856 by Thomas Burberry, originally focusing on the development of outdoor attire, the fashion house has moved into the high fashion market, developing a first of its kind fabric called Gabardine, which is completely breathable and waterproof, and exclusively made for the brand. Their pattern-based scarves, trench coats, and other fashion accessories are unique. First of all, The first shop opened in the Haymarket, London, in 1891. Burberry was an independent family-controlled company, until 1955, when it was reincorporated. In conclusion, In 2005 it completed its demerger from GUS plc, the company’s former majority shareholder.
As the face, GQ‘s 2017 Woman Of The Year Adwoa Aboah has a strong relationship with the British brand. They have shot a portfolio of images and seems like today the pair reveal its third chapter.
Over the past year, Aboah has been shot for a series of photographic portfolios to showcase the bold Burberry pre-Autumn/Winter 2018 collection. The images, which have been shot by Kanye West-favoured photographer Juergen Teller in Ghana, reference Aboah’s heritage. Most of all the collection itself builds on the legacy left by Christopher Bailey, (notably his pattern and check-heavy final collection. Which was shown in London in January) with vibrant prints, baggy trousers and chunky puffer jackets a go-go.
Therefore, the latest chapter in the Aboah collab also sees the British model become an art director. Hence, casting her friend and favorite Sonny Hall to showcase the (ridiculously desirable) menswear.
